I cannot recommend Dr. Evans more highly. She has such a natural gift for seeing the beauty in every child, and helping others see the beauty as well. I have a high-energy, brilliant son who we found ourselves unsure of how to best parent around his anger. We had taken him to therapists with no results (he hated that experience of telling an adult anything). Dr. Evans approached my son like he was just the coolest kid on the planet! He immediately opened up to her and his whole face became bright. I saw what the impact of unconditional love and curiosity was on my son. I realized I could approach him with that same openness, instead of trying to have him conform to our “rules” and to try to make him be happy all of the time. I sought out Dr. Evans because I was frightened when my son would storm upstairs and lock himself in his room when he was angry. She helped me to see that he wasn’t hurting anyone, and that he was figuring out how to manage his emotions in his own private space. I could help send him a message of unconditional love by telling him it was OK to be angry and I was proud of him for finding a path to his own peace. Anger is just one human emotion. There is nothing wrong with it. We all have all the feelings. My job was just to unconditionally love him. How beautiful is that? As soon as I accepted this, his angry outbursts almost entirely stopped. And I stopped making his anger mean anything. We are closer than ever before. It is so much easier. There is so much love. Dr. Evans over delivers in her love and compassion. She brought our family together in the most beautiful and powerful way.
